Join SOE member and bi-lingual spiritual / retreat director and fiber artist Anita Cleary, OP on a two-session journey of exploring YOur Story in the context of Earth’s story using your chosen art medium. This is an experiential reflection for those who delight in using fiber / paint / clay as a means of praying. Gather your supplies for a new project where colors, texture, reflective questions of Your story, Our story, is a woven, knitted, crocheted, drawn, painted, felted, embroidered, spun, molded integrative expression of The Story, which is all of ours. This two-session program is hosted by the SOE Core Committee and FREE to all Sisters of Earth members.
Wednesdays, Jan 10 and Jan 24 at 4-6pm Pacific, 6-8pm Central, 7-9pm Eastern
During the first session (Jan 10) you will share prayer and individual stories, ponder questions, and begin your individual projects. You will have two weeks to pray and play with your art form.
In the second session (Jan 24) you will re-gather to share your progress and how each of the stories have melded into the one.

Most any type of art project that one is familiar with is just fine. If you are trying something new, having a friend who is ready to answer your questions about your chosen artform is helpful.
I have done this retreat with weaving many times, but spinning, pottery, painting, knitting, crocheting, beading ... all work. We will focus on color, texture, and design. Within any given medium these might be expressed differently but are almost always present in some chosen form.
I see the first session as a time to gather, to meet one another, to learn what artforms will be used, and to walk through the process / intentionality of your project. I will use music and offer reflection questions. I may share a PowerPoint with some images of weavings from other groups just to give the idea that variety all works well with this. During the first session if you wish to have your art supplies handy that’s great, but minimally be in a comfortable space and have a way to take notes.
